Plural Nouns

For the plural form of most nouns, add s.
Regular Nouns
  • bottle – bottles
  • cup – cups
  • elephant - elephants
  • pencil – pencils
  • desk – desks
  • sticker – stickers
  • table - tables
  • truck - trucks
  • window – windows
Irregular Plurals
For nouns that end in ch, sh, x, s, z is or s sounds, add es.

  • box – boxes
  • cross - crosses
  • loss - losses
  • watch – watches
  • mass – masses
  • bus – buses
  • analysis - analyses
  • crisis - crises
  • thesis - theses
  • quiz - quizzes
For nouns ending in f or fe, change f to v and add es.
  • wolf – wolves
  • wife – wives
  • leaf – leaves
  • life – lives
  • thief - thieves
  • shelf - shelves
For nouns ending in o, change to oes.
  • echo – echoes
  • hero – heroes

But o change to os
